Christina, why did you decide to participate in the contest?
First of all, I see the Miss Russian Los Angeles pageant as a unique and professional experience, one that is priceless for creative people. And besides, I’m always excited to meet new people. It’s always so interesting!Your preparation for the competition requires a lot of hard work. Did you have any doubts?Of course. Doubts are always there, and for me, as a person who’s on stage a lot, those kinds of feelings are very familiar. All the girls are very beautiful. Each one possesses a unique charm, and of course there are always difficulties: every day there was something new, something unexpected. And each of us understood that you should perform everything at the highest level, without any mistakes, because you’re in a team of professionals, with everything to be done neatly and precisely.Which of the competitions do you remember the most?The final show consisted of five competitions: presentation of participants, swimsuit competition, intelligence competition, talent show, and evening gown display. Everything was happening so promptly, that we didn’t have time to look at ourselves in the mirror in between the stages. Probably, the most hilarious thing was that during the competition of intelligence the host, Chris, agreed to become my husband, even though I didn’t even ask him to marry me. It was really funny.Victory also brings stress. What were your first feelings?To tell you the truth, I did not expect to win. I was able to fully understand that I won only after two to three days and before that I was simply in shock. In my life there were many victories, but they were in sports competitions, when everything depended on my training and physical condition. But for this event, the competitions of beauty and grace were so different from my previous sporting events.You are in fact a professional dancer, correct?Yes, dance is a huge part of my life. I was 4 years old when my parents brought me to the sports-ball club with the hope that I would dance for some number of years and that it would remain my hobby. But here I am, 20 years later, and I still cannot stop myself as now I’m dancing at a professional level. I have made many victories in dancing, and certainly some disappointments. In July of 2014, in Los Angeles, the World Championships of Performing Arts took place. I was competing as part of Russia’s team in ballroom dancing. Unfortunately, they did not give me the gold medal, even though I had the best scores. The gold metal was actually not awarded to anyone, and it was most likely because of political reasons. In general, I can say that most of what I learned in sports was useful at the Miss Russian Los Angeles pageant.What is your style of life?My life has always been very bright and eventful … Since I was a little girl, I was always going on trips, appearing in performances, and was in training. I’m used to it and I don’t want to stop once I achieved something. I want to keep going. I’m not afraid of difficulties and if I want to accomplish something, I will make it happen.
What are your wishes to the readers of this magazine? I wish for all the readers to believe in themselves and in what they can do. As a matter of fact, it is absolutely insignificant where you are from. Life is so unpredictable, and at any moment it can change for the best, especially if you seek your goals passionately. The main thing is to follow your dream and to believe that you can do anything.
