This is the most frequent Google request in December.
Only «How to fit into a dress AFTER Christmas» can compete with it.
And today I, Svetlana Cammarano, will give you a short excursion into the world of intermittent fasting.
Have you ever wondered why people voluntarily refuse food?
Is fasting integral to the evolution and functioning of the body?
Let’s start with the fact that humans are the only species that overeat. Not a single animal will eat up everything that is poured into a bowl just for the sake of not leave leftovers or throw away food.
And this regular overeating leads to high levels of toxins in the body. In order to restart all systems, to be more alert and more concentrated, people began to look for the relationship between nutrition and physical and emotional state. And they found it.
There are a lot of weight loss diets out there, but they don’t work. You can get 500 kcal per day both with chocolate only and with salads. But let be honest: how long can you last? A week? Two weeks?
During my life I have tried more than 38 diets and found exactly the way that EVOLUTIONALLY suits our body.
Cleansing + Calorie Deficit = Intermittent Fasting
Once a month I give myself 5 days of drinking fasting. What does it mean? It means that all five days I drink only pure water. Sometimes it causes a little shock to my followers on Instagram. But it’s really interesting for them to watch the process.
Just remember: it’s only hard for the first 2 days, then your body starts screaming «thank you!»
If you feel like you’re not motivated enough to go three days without food, take an example from actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
He follows the 5:2 scheme, in which five days a week he eats anything in unlimited quantities, and on the remaining two he allows himself no more than five hundred kilocalories a day. The diet must include water, green tea, natural cocoa, coconut oil or milk, chicken broth, and kale and goji berry salad.
And there is an important point here. Doctors warn that before start these kind of experiments, you need to check with your doctor. Fasting is forbidden for people with chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder, gastritis or pancreatitis, as well as those suffering from diabetes. If the stomach, liver and pancreas are in order, then you can try the 14:10 scheme, in which you will have to give up food for fourteen hours.
To summarize, I would like to say that fasting is an extraordinary way to get to know yourself and your body. The whole process of cleansing the body is accompanied by an internal rebirth, which brings new ideas and new philosophy.
